Speaking to your employer
You can choose whether you disclose your difficulties with your line manager or HR department. You may not have had a formal diagnosis but suspect that you may have a specific learning difficulty. You may also want to talk through your options with a specialist before speaking to your employer. If this is the case you can book a free advice session with a Dyslexia Action Learning Centre.
In some organisations it is best to speak to your line manager first, in others HR may be the best department to speak to, or it may be that your organisation has a disability representative who can help. Before speaking to them consider tasks that you need extra assistance with, as a result of your dyslexia.
